Has Bring Me The Horizon Gone Soft?

Bring Me The Horizon has drastically changed their sound over the years. Beginning in 2006, BMTH had released their first album, “Count Your Blessings”. It was giving a more deathcore vibe in terms of sub genre and sound. Afterwards, they had released their next album titled, “Suicide Season and in my opinion, their best album. At this point, they sort of experimented with adding vocals but still provided us with the signature Oli Sykes scream that we knew and loved. This was also the era of when they played at Warped Tour the most and graced us with their presence in their true and raw form. As BMTH began taking off, they began experimenting more. This led to them adding more vocals which falls into the metalcore genre. You can hear this more on “Sempiternal” and “That's The Spirit”. These two albums have been a crowd favorite and most popular albums, especially ones that helped them get on the map.

Though at this point, we began seeing a decline in the amount of screams we were getting per vocals. By the time “Mantra” was released, there was a sharp turn from metal core to experimental techno metal. I’ll give it to BMTH, they sure do take risks and experiment a lot with their sound. Unfortunately, a lot of BMTH fans did not approve of this change of sound, but it was a new turning point for the band which brought in several new listeners who maybe weren't fans of the “heavy stuff”. The band proceeded to release new music under this new sound and by the time “Post Human: Survival Horror” and “Post Human: Nex Gen” were released, it gave more of a baby metal feel. Also known and kawaii metal, BMTH has set the expectation for the future of their albums. Although the band has gone a different direction and completely strayed away from heavy and death metal, the band has still maintained a large fan base and will continue to grow and we’re excited to see what their next move will be in the future.
