Currents

Currents is a metalcore band from Newton, CT, formerly known as “We Came As Plague”. They began their careers in the industry in 2011. The sound profile began as a more melodic metal core banD. On their recent album, “The Death We Seek”, the band has pivoted towards a deeper scream profile, leaning towards a hardcore sound. According to sharptone records, “Theyve taken their visceral maelstrom on tour around the world, supporting bands like Ice Nine Kills, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Fit For A King, As I Lay Dying, and We Came As Romans.” - Sharptone Records. Currents has made their way through big names in metal yet have stuck true to what they know and love as far as their sound goes. Currents’ sound profile matches bands such as Invent Animate, Architects and Aviana. 

 The band is currently on tour with Like Moths To Flames, Invent Animate, Unity TX, and Foreign Hands. Fans do carry some concern as the lead guitarist, Ryan Castaldi, was diagnosed with cancer early last year but has mentioned in some forums that he has made a full recovery after treatment and the tour with the band will be going as planned.
